JOB TITLE: PAID $10 HOUR Social Media Coordinator / RESEARCH ASSISTANT
WPUNJ TOBACCO FREE INITIATIVE
MUST BE A WPUNJ enrolled student to be eligible.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Participate in all team meetings and maintain consistent work hours.
Support and provide recommendations for overall communication plan to help Tobacco–Free Initiative reach outlined goals.
Develop a social media strategy and timeline/action plan to effectively boost awareness of the Tobacco–Free Initiative.
Manage, update, and maintain the WPUNJ Tobacco–Free Initiative communication contact and platforms (research, write and copy edit content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, website, collateral material, etc.).
Initiate and execute social media and traditional outreach programs to build support and student engagement in the Tobacco–Free Initiative
Track and log comments and engagement statistics to analyze success of initiatives and make necessary adjustments
Attend and assist with the Task-force meeting minutes, greeting and sign-in sheets for all task-force meetings.
Assist in creating written and visual educational materials for the initiative.
Store all files on the shared, accessible drive.
Assist with the gathering of local data – key informant interviews, focus groups, surveys etc. for needs assessment.
Participate in other activities and events related to Tobacco–Free Initiative
Initiative Expectations:
Dress Code: Appropriate attire is required at all time.
Attendance is required at all Team and the Task-Force meetings.
Length of Employment: During the fall and spring semesters the length of employment is 14 weeks. Student work contract will be renewed each semester based upon positive performance reviews.
Weekly Commitment: 8 office hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, preferably 4 hours on 2 separate days. Office hours will be scheduled in the Public Health Research Lab at times mutually convenient for the student and Dr. Kecojevic. Office hours will be posted on the office door.
Compensation: $10 per hour
I-9 and W/4 Forms: Students must complete I-9 and W/4 forms and provide information for direct deposit with the Human Resources Department at College Hall.
Timesheets: Submit biweekly timesheets of hours online.
Policies: Students are provided the door code to the department’s research laboratory door. This code will not be shared with anyone, including staff members, other students and/or friends. Failure to abide by this policy will result in termination of position.
Supervision:
Students will report to Dr. Kecojevic for all Tobacco–Free Initiative assigned work or in his absence, to Ms. Gerri Suppa, PBHL departmental secretary.
Students will notify Dr. Kecojevic or Ms Suppa in email for any late attendance or absentee from work.
All student assignments and programmatic work will be overseen by Dr. Kecojevic.
