Primary Responsibilities

The intern will be responsible for helping Janssen Community Impact plan and implement employee engagement activities in support of more than 5,000 Janssen colleagues across the US. Specifically, the candidate will be helping to plan for “Janssen Cares Volunteer Days” – a signature month of service where thousands of employees across the US give back to their local communities. This work will involve research of best practices; communication and coordination with local and national nonprofit organizations; ability to serve as the primary contact for Janssen employees with volunteer inquiries; project management of multiple logistical items, including event details; proficient use of technology, including willingness to learn new tools to promote volunteerism; and the development of communication resources.

Janssen Community Impact aims to provide a continuum of community involvement strategies and programs that integrate, align and support Our Credo values; facilitate recruitment, retention, and employee engagement; and meet the evolving needs of the communities where we live and work. The intern may be involved in additional responsibilities aligned with these focus areas, as priorities arise.
Qualifications

  • A minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
  • Participation in campus/community service activities is desired
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College/University in a relevant field, ideally with an interest in pursuing a career in social impact/communications/PR/public affairs (individuals pursuing graduate degrees also are eligible)
  • Some level of prior work experience desired
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future

Additional details

  • Interns work 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.
  • Position will require work on-site at our Titusville, NJ or Horsham, PA campuses at least 3 days per week.
  • Internship duration is 10 weeks, June 6 through August 12. Start/end dates may be adjusted per discretion of hiring manager.
  • This is a paid internship. Hourly pay rate is based on existing J&J guidelines for students.
