Communications Ambassador
Partners (www.partnersnj.org) is a non-profit that passionately advocates for survivors
of domestic and sexual violence, helping them rebuild their lives to be free from harm
and fear. We are a team of advocates, staff, and volunteer lawyers, supporting survivors
and their decisions with the tools and knowledge to help them speak their truths, secure

Partners is currently seeking a professional Communications Ambassador to handle all
official communications, coordinating activities that support the organization’s mission,
values, and vision.
The Communications Ambassador, in partnership with the Director of Development and
Communications, will develop, execute, and evaluate a comprehensive communications
strategy and plan that will strengthen the organization’s communications infrastructure
and develop impactful communications strategies to advance our mission.
Responsibilities
 Deliver high-performance communications results in service of the organization’s
mission, vision, values, and strategies;
 Implement strategic messaging and ensure consistent use throughout materials;
 Design and/or oversee production of communications materials, including web
content, newsletters, press releases, community outreach and education items,
social media postings, annual reports, and other materials as needed
 As the organization’s brand keeper, have the ability to integrate brand language
and copyedit text for consistent messaging.
 Stay on top of current news in Partners issue areas, appropriate language, and
messaging best practices
 Measure and report results of the program for continuous communication
improvement
Public Relations, Press and Media
 Build and manage relationships with media outlets, pitch stories, create press
releases and respond to media inquiries.
 Work with program team to identify publicity opportunities, client stories, and
legal issues to optimize PR activities
 Monitor online and print media daily for current events and issues in the fields of
domestic and sexual violence, recommending and assisting with responses when
appropriate.
Social Media, Website, Digital, Email, Print
 Manage Partners website and social media presence – analyze web and social
media metrics and build on this analysis to drive traffic, awareness and
engagement.
 Plan, coordinate, and manage the development and production of all print and
e-communications materials
Qualifications
 BA/BS in Communications, public relations, journalism or equivalent;
 Minimum 3-5 years of experience in strategic communications
 Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to quickly synthesize ideas in a
succinct and compelling manner.
 Comfort with strategy and plan development and execution of publications, web,
social media, earned media, and media relations including experience employing
an array of platforms (print, digital, media) to reach targeted audiences.
 Experience in nonprofits with significant experience writing and conversing about
social impact and supporting development;
 Well-developed organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail and the ability
to manage multiple projects simultaneously
 Able to take initiative and work proactively, yet enjoy working as part of a team
 Aptitude for learning and adapting to new technology, with experience using
software and applications including Word Press, Constant Contact, Microsoft
Office Suite, desktop publishing and design programs (Adobe InDesign,
Photoshop, Canva, and Publisher preferred) and social media platforms.


This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified communications professional to join
Partners and help grow the organization’s reputation, reach and impact, as the
organization is currently completing strategic plan goals and developing a
communication plan for FY23.


This position is a full-time exempt staff position. Partners offers employee benefits
including a health plan, vision, dental, family leave, life insurance, and retirement plan
with matching contribution and has a generous paid time off policy. Salary range is
$60,000-$65,000, and is commensurate with skill level and experience.


Partners is currently remote with one day expected in the office. This will change as the
COVID workplace guidelines change. A hybrid schedule is anticipated for the
foreseeable future.
