THE ROLE: Burson has an immediate opening for an Assistant Account Executive, Public Relations with a specialty in media relations and account management. This is a terrific opportunity to work with very exciting and renown brands. This job will involve client management, media relations, content development, analyst relations, and social/digital content strategy. We are looking for candidates with excellent written and oral communication skills, client relationship-building skills, and a passion for media relations who can deliver results. This person must be detailed-oriented, resourceful, and able to multi-task and prioritize under deadlines. THE WORK:This position will be client-facing, working with client contacts and internal teams to execute objectives and maintain client satisfactionHelp conceptualize and implement successful client programsAct as a storyteller, shaping the client narrative to secure media placementsMaintain strong relationships with key endemic, business and trade media contactsDevelop and support client strategy and planningDemonstrate and encourage creativity and innovation, both from a client service and team culture standpointEffectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others using your strong communication and presentation skillsDemonstrate a passion for all things healthcare – being on the pulse of what’s happening in the industry and understanding the implications for our clientsWell-versed in synthesizing information to deliver timely insightsHelp lead and mentor a talented group of agency professionals, overseeing project management, day-to-day account work and individual client programs EXPERIENCE THAT CONTRIBUTES TO SUCCESS:1-3 years of public relations experienceUndergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related experience is preferredStrong written and verbal communications skills across a range of mediums (social media, long-form content, media materials/press releases, presentations, messaging etc.)Track record of success developing and executing PR/communications programs to achieve a client’s objectivesExperience managing projects from end-to-end, being solution oriented and always keeping in mind client goalsExperienced with Cision, Microsoft suite of tools, MuckRack, Brandwatch and Google Workspace (a plus).Experience effectively managing multiple workstreams and client budgets.Hybrid work structure, ideally based in NYC or DCDesire to work in a diverse and inclusive organization as an active participant in culture initiatives, training opportunities and employee resource groups ABOUT BURSON: At Burson, diversity, equity and inclusion are not just values; they are strategic imperatives that fuel our future in an industry built on the art of understanding, connecting and developing relationships.
