Responsibilities
Experienced Strategic Communication/Public Relations Professional whose primary responsibility will be to develop and execute a comprehensive messaging approach designed to promote the Verizon Wireless innovation story and enhance Verizon’s reputation as an innovative technology leader.
Work daily with top-tier media and focus on developing and expanding relationships with a wide range of digital influencers by highlighting non-traditional wireless products, new solutions including video, data and connected devices, and other breakthrough services created by Verizon Wireless and its partners.
Create and lead public relations support for programs, initiatives and events, including major trade shows, and uncover new venues and opportunities to position Verizon Wireless’ innovation story.
Must be a creative thinker and writer who will craft compelling stories, blog posts, talking points, speeches and other material to highlight the constantly-evolving wireless technology ecosystem, and Verizon’s role in it.
Must be fluent in social platforms, to support overall social strategy, and actively engage, with media, influencers and others across social media.
Confident and savvy spokesperson with strong, established media relationships who will work closely with internal team, partners, vendors and others to represent company positions on innovation, and products and services in the media.
Qualifications
Minimum 8 years experience in corporate or agency PR organizations.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or associated field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience working with media as spokesperson or resource, especially in the technology industry.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with proven ability to write stories using AP style, as well as pitches, social media posts, talking points and speeches.
Knowledge and understanding of social media and fluent in social platforms.
Ability to collaborate across business, vendor and agency partners.
