Position Overview:
The Assistant Account Executive will join our team in supporting the strategic communications and activities for several clients throughout the firm. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. S/he will also enjoy working in a smart, entrepreneurial, client-focused, team-oriented environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
 Monitor traditional and social media for articles pertinent to clients
 Prepare media reports/documents
 Conduct research and summarize findings on current and prospective clients
 Write client memos and meeting reports
 Develop media lists and possibly interacting with the media
 Gather and prepare marketing materials for press kits and client presentations
 Draft recommendations for clients
 Participate and be vocal in team meetings
 Manage client invoice process and assist with monthly billing procedures
 Maintain and update various tracking reports

Required Skills, Knowledge, Must Haves and Experience of the “A” Player:
 1-2 years of experience (internships included) in public relations or corporate communications preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences industry
 Understanding of the communications function including writing press releases, pitching to media, conducting research, crisis communication and awareness campaigns
 Strong writing and editing skills
 Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
 Detail-oriented, with excellent follow-through on projects
 Strong organization skills
 Capable of juggling several projects at the same time – often needing to reprioritize
 Self motivated and willing to take initiative
 Able to work independently as well as on teams
 Professional and strong team player
 Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
 Adept at internet searching
 Previous experience with Cision, Factiva and Lexis/Nexis a plus

Education (Degrees, technical training, etc):
 Bachelor’s degree in communications or related degree required

Technical Expertise (Systems, software, etc.):
 Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power point, Word, Outlook

Work Conditions (Travel requirements, etc.):
 Minimal travel
