Job Description:
GAF’s Social Media and Content Specialist will manage the end-to-end operations of content production and publishing on our Blog and Social Media channels. This individual will have proven success in editorial content management, knowledge of how to create customer-centric content for different audiences, and a solid understanding of digital-first content best practices to achieve search optimization and social media engagement.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
- Reporting to the Communications Content Director, support the development and execution of GAF’s cross-channel content strategy, with a focus on GAF’s Blog and Social Media channels
- Support monthly/quarterly collaboration on new story ideas, gathering input from key stakeholders and subject-matter experts across the business
- Perform keyword research to identify new or untapped content opportunities
- Partner with Communications and Marketing to create and maintain the publishing calendars for the Blog and Social Media channels—balancing audience interests, business objectives, stakeholder needs and industry trends
- Working with our Blog agency, ensure content assignments come in, are published, and retired (if applicable) on schedule
- Develop Social Media copy and guide creative asset production, partnering with in-house and freelance resources
- Manage the end-to-end editorial workflow for all Social Media and Blog content, routing drafts and assets through Marketing and Communications stakeholders, Technical Services (if applicable) and Legal approvals
- Support the development of internal communications content, as needed
- Carefully proof and edit content to ensure that the voice and imagery consistently represent the GAF brand
- Ensure white hat SEO tactics are implemented in content publishing
- Collaborate with channel owners (e.g., Social Media, Web, Email, Events, Paid Media, Internal Communications) to ensure available content is properly leveraged to reach intended audience(s)
- Identify key metrics required to evaluate content performance, support content tracking and testing, and analyze results to inform decisions on future content
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience in content planning and project management (internships count)
- Ability to work within monthly and weekly deadlines with exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communications skills
- Ability to successfully partner with agencies, writers and designers to develop audience-centric content that meets business objectives
- Experience managing content reviews across multiple stakeholders, applying edits and feedback and shepherding content to final, approved state
- Skilled in copywriting, proofreading and editing, with attention to detail and strong eye for grammar, spelling, spacing, and punctuation
- Intermediate SEO knowledge and experience
- Written fluency in Spanish, a plus
- Experience with content creation platforms (Skyword), social media management platforms (Sprinklr), and content management systems ( Sitecore), a plus
- A willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategies to meet changing business and industry dynamics
