Social Media Strategy & Content Manager – NBA 2K League

Position Summary:
The Social Media Strategy & Content Manager will be responsible for developing the NBA 2K League’s long-term social media strategy (both in-season and off-season), and establish the League’s brand and voice across all digital and social platforms (Facebook, IG, Twitter, TikTok, Twitch). This role will also collaborate closely with the NBA’s social content publishing team to ensure successful execution against the 2K League’s overarching social media strategy.
Major Responsibility:
– Develop and implement a long-term, data-driven social media strategy for the NBA 2K League to drive brand awareness, fan acquisition, and unlock commercial opportunities
– Curate and maintain active engagement with the 2K League’s fan base and player community, and develop social media campaigns including budget planning, content strategy, implementation schedules, and event/live-game coverage
– Partner with the 2K League’s PR & Communications Lead to develop 2K League storylines and messaging, including the latest league & team news and features
– Identify and implement social media/content partnership activation opportunities with key 2K League partners
– Manage the 2K League’s social media calendar and share with internal stakeholders
– Develop ongoing reports to provide insights into social media performance/engagement, and make recommendations for improvement in usability, content development and promotion
– Work with the 2KL Marketing, Content, and Creative teams to establish social media style guides and standards to ensure brand consistency
– Liaise with the NBA and Take2’s social teams to identify opportunities for content amplification
– Partner with the 2K League’s Community Ambassador on aligning the League’s social media strategy with our influencer programming
– Maintain up-to-date knowledge of social media industry trends and assess potential for new social platforms and opportunities
– Act as the lead moderator for the 2K League’ Twitch and YouTube channels, and develop a moderator program to oversee a roster of moderators during 2KL games and events
Required Skills/Knowledge:
– 5+ years of experience in social media management, marketing, or relevant field
– Ability to pitch and develop creative ideas for social content and initiatives
– Established history of embracing and unlocking new social platforms
– Demonstrated knowledge of social media management tools and platforms
– Prior experience developing social media strategies/campaigns
– Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with proven experience on writing, editing and crafting content for social media
– Strong knowledge of internet and web technology fundamentals Knowledge of basketball/esports a plus

Bachelor’s Degree
