
Southard Communications is seeking an aggressive, highly motivated and organized intern to assist our team of communications professionals for Spring 2022. We’re looking for a hard-working, outgoing and energetic individual to contribute to our team, work in an exciting and fast-paced environment, and who will use his/her skills and creative juices to grow professionally in a dynamic small agency work environment. The internship program at Southard offers students the chance to be mentored by experienced publicists who will provide education and help candidates cultivate skills required to succeed in PR. Armed with these skills, those who meet standards of excellence will gain the opportunity to contribute to significant elements of account service including writing press releases, pitching media, planning events and measuring results.
Requirements:
Must be able to work a minimum of two-three days per week
Strong writing and logistics skills
Social media integration and engagement (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest)
Ability to multitask
Eager to learn!
Responsibilities:
Create media lists using manual research and online tools like Cision Ability to conduct comprehensive research
Coordinate shipments for many toy clients
Tracking and clipping of media placements
Assist in drafting press releases, pitches, client emails
Participating in events attended or hosted by the agency
Drafting and executing social media for client accounts – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
