The Job:
The NY-based Talent Relations (TR) & Events interns will help with HBO/HBO Max/TNets/KYAC/DNets/OWN events and HBO/HBO Max/TNets/KYAC talent relations. This role provides interns with great opportunities to learn about planning impactful events from the ground up and how to implement smart talent relations. The TR & Events teams work closely with Publicity, Marketing, Development, and many other teams across the company. Our teams work hard to engage talent in meaningful ways that benefit both the talents’ projects and the company.

The LA-based Talent Relations (TR) & Events interns will help with HBO/HBO Max/TNets/KYAC/DNets/OWN events and HBO/HBO Max/TNets/KYAC talent relations. This role provides interns with great opportunities to learn about planning impactful events from the ground up and how to implement smart talent relations. The TR & Events teams work closely with Publicity, Marketing, Development, and many other teams across the company. Our teams work hard to engage talent in meaningful ways that benefit both the talents’ projects and the company.

The Daily Responsibilities:
This Intern will report into the Manager, Talent Relations and Associate Manager, Events and work across the Talent Relations and Events Team. Responsibilities include:

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
  • Keeping department contact sheets up-to-date with updated series regulars/EPs and rep contact info.
  • Creation of contact sheets for new shows
  • Reaching out to reps to gather talent/EP birthdays and add to corresponding grids
  • Tracking when shows are starting production and help with start of production gifts
  • Helping purchase gifts as needed
  • Assisting in brainstorming + researching gift ideas
  • Drafting talent itineraries for events
  • Updating finance grids to track talent travel and glam costs (if needed)
  • Drafting congratulations letters for awards nominees
  • Keeping department events calendar up to date weekly
  • Attending brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas on event concepts, and special deliveries to complement live virtual events
  • Assisting with the development of event rundowns, post event recap and presentation decks, and communications materials related to the event
  • Developing, managing and tracking guest lists for upcoming events
  • Assisting with the coordination of team meetings with internal departments and outside vendors
  • Occasionally helping the Awards or PR teams as needed with special projects
  • Help brainstorm and research charities for department donations and create donation cards
  • Working events on-site as needed (in the greater New York City area for the NY-based intern, and greater Los Angeles area for the LA-based interns)
  • Come into the office to work 2-3x/week or as needed (Hudson Yards office for the NY-based intern, and Culver City/Burbank offices for the LA-based interns)

The Essentials:

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student (18 years or older)
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States
  • Preferred students will be studying Communications but not required, interest in Talent Relations/Events a plus
  • Experience with office tools such as Google Suite, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons on all levels, in person and on the telephone.
  • Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instructions.
  • Must have the ability to organize.
  • Must have the ability to work well under time constraints.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Charismatic and creative. Self-starter, inspired by ideas and team-oriented

About the Internship Program:

  • Our Spring 2023 program is a 12 Week Internship that will run from Monday, February 6th through Friday, April 28th, 2023
  • Part time-schedule (16-24 hours/week) required
  • Company-issued computer or secured remote access provided for the duration of the internship program
  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive salary. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
